Daniel ‘Lawrence’ Burke and ‘Pat’ Adsit Burke is a unique couple in their own right. They were born as two separate individuals with a common interest of fine arts, but today they exist as a single entity under the name Pat Lawrence. This name is a pseudo name they use in their novels which they have co written and is derived from both of their names. The two started working together in 2007 as actors not authors. They were chosen to act as a married couple Charlotte and George in the funny theater act by Ken Ludwig titled “Moon over Buffalo”. Their partnership was sealed by a kiss during a scene in the play and led to not only a happy marriage but a successful business partnership. Which the two jointly own and run. They decided to start writing scripts centered around the murder mystery genre as that is what they both enjoyed. Murder-By-Design has to date wrote about six of these types of scripts. They decided to go back on stage as acting was what had brought them together. They then penned down a two man show based mainly of real incidences they had faced in their lives. The show which they called Squirrels in the Attic was an instant hit, and is still being performed in parts of Midwestern at selected venues. In 2011 after having seen and enjoyed the success of their scripts and play they decided to take it a step further and write a book. The major challenge was how they were going to be able to write one book together. They then deliberated and decided to come up with a common theme and then work from there to come up with plots, characters and scenarios. Jarred into Being their first book is about how different individuals’ lives are connected somehow whether they may like it or not. It is about how the main character fights to remain independent and keep herself from being engulfed by others and situations she finds herself in. Jarred Into Being did very well and has received great reviews by other authors who have been in the field for a long time. T
